The refrigerant designed for direct expansion chillers

422D is an easy-to-use, non-ozone depleting HFC refrigerant specially formulated to replace R 22 in direct expansion water chillers and normal and low-medium temperature refrigeration systems.

Applications:

422D is applied in commercial and residential air conditioning, direct expansion water chillers, and food preservation and processing.

Performance:

• It allows quick, easy and profitable conversions
• Lower delivery temperature than R 22 refrigerant.

Advantages:

• No lubricant change required (compatible with mineral oils and new synthetic lubricants)
• It can also be used for the replacement of R-22 in commercial and industrial refrigeration systems at normal and medium-low temperatures
• Retrofitting is easy and inexpensive
• It is possible to top up the circuit without emptying the entire refrigerant charge
• The cooling capacity and energy efficiency of the system is close to that with R-22
• The discharge (discharge) gas temperature from the compressor is significantly lower than with R-22

Lubricants:

422D is perfectly compatible with new and old generation lubricants (mineral oil, alkylbenzene or polyester).

In almost all retrofits, it is not necessary to replace the type of lubricant during the conversion phase; in some systems, with complex pipe configurations, the addition of Poe oil may still be necessary.
