Opteon ® XP10: the low GWP replacement for R-134a in commercial and industrial refrigeration

Opteon ® XP10 is a hydrofluoro-olefin (HFO) based refrigerant, with similar properties and performance to R-134a and with a Global Warming Potential – GWP significantly lower than the GWP of R-134a (approximately 55 % in less).

Opteon ® XP10 is a non-flammable and non-toxic gas , and has been approved and adopted by major refrigeration equipment manufacturers ; it is suitable for new plants, but also for those already in use, operating with R-134a, through retrofits that are quick, simple and economical.

Opteon ® XP10 is miscible with POE lubricants.

Applications:

Opteon ® XP10 is used in direct expansion volumetric industrial and commercial plants , operating at medium temperatures.

It can also be used optimally in centrifugal water coolers (chillers) and in the medium temperature circuits of cascade hybrid systems, with second stage operating on CO 2 .

Performance:

• Opteon ® XP10 is azeotropic, so it has a Glide value of zero
• Opteon ® XP10 offers performance and energy efficiency equivalent to R-134a.
• Opteon ® XP10 has a GWP (Global Warming Potential) of 572, significantly lower than that of R-134a.
• It does not require the replacement of components, lubricants and seals.
• Opteon ® XP10 is non-flammable (ASHRAE Class – A1)
